Our Story

In nature, a cedar grove is more than a collection of trees. Cedars grow slowly and steadily, developing deep roots that allow them to endure, adapt, and withstand storms. While each tree stands strong on its own, its greatest strength comes from growing together—sharing resources and creating a system where life can flourish.

Cedar Grove Public Schools is built on the same idea. We are a new tuition-free public charter school for grades 6–12 opening in Spokane, Washington in Fall 2027.

Our school exists to help every student develop strong roots in knowledge, identity, relationships, and purpose. We believe students thrive when they are known, challenged, and supported. Each student brings unique strengths and potential, and our role is to nurture those qualities while providing a rigorous academic foundation for ambitious futures.

At Cedar Grove, learning is both demanding and human. Through Socratic dialogue and productive struggle, students engage deeply with complex ideas and develop their voice. Through strong relationships and a culture of belonging, students feel supported to take risks, ask for help, and grow.

Like a cedar grove, our strength comes from both deep roots and shared growth. We prepare students for lives of purpose, opportunity, and agency—ready for college and for life beyond high school.

Cedar Grove is more than a school. It is a place where roots take hold and futures grow.
