Our Story
In nature, a cedar grove is more than a collection of trees. Cedars grow slowly and steadily, developing deep roots that let them endure, adapt, and withstand storms. Each tree stands strong on its own — yet its greatest strength comes from growing together, sharing resources and creating a system where life can flourish.
Cedar Grove is built on the same idea. We are a new tuition-free public charter school for grades 6–12, opening in Spokane, Washington in Fall 2027, where every student develops strong roots in knowledge, identity, relationships, and purpose.
Here, learning is both demanding and human. Through Socratic dialogue and productive struggle, students engage deeply with complex ideas and develop their voices. Through strong relationships and a culture of belonging, they feel safe to take risks, ask for help, and grow. Each student arrives with unique strengths, and our role is to nurture them while providing the rigorous academic foundation that ambitious futures require.
We believe students grow the way forests do — not alone, but in relationship; not in isolation, but in a community that supports both individual growth and collective strength. That is how we prepare them for lives of purpose, opportunity, and agency, ready for college and for whatever comes beyond it.
Cedar Grove is more than a school. It is a place where roots take hold and futures grow.
Cedar Grove is a joyful community where every student is known, challenged, and empowered. Through rigorous, active learning, we nurture each student's unique talents and build the skills they need to navigate college and lives of purpose.
